Pastor Rob Edwards
I was ordained in 1998 and began my ministry in Adelaide SA. My first parish was in Ferryden Park comprising Aboriginal Lutheran fellowship and St Paul’s
LutheranChurch. From there I moved to Palmerston in the topend of the Northern Territory (a satellite city of Darwin). It was during this time that I became involved in Army Chaplaincy.
In 2004 I moved to the Burrumbuttock Parish in NSW to serve St. John’s Chapel and the school.
Toward the end of 2011 I received a call to the Rockhampton Parish in Qld. I had received quite a number calls during the last few years but this was one I found too difficult to refuse. It had nothing to do with the great weather and relaxed lifestyle, but had everything to do with what I can see God doing in this small church in a big city.
I am convinced that God wants to use me to bring new life and hope to his church. My style is very much about encouraging Christians to find their gifts and grow energised by the love of God. I want to raise up leaders alongside of what I am doing and multiply my efforts rather than maintain control. Paul writes in Timothy
2:1&2; “You then my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus and the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others.”
This then is the motto of my ministry.
